Mercedes‑Benz dominated international luxury class market in the 1930s with its eight-cylinder compressor vehicles. The 500 with compressor, known as the 500 K, appeared in 1934 in eight different body versions. The crowning glory of all of these variants was the particularly elegant Special Roadster, of which only 29 were built.
