Mercedes-Benz 220 S Saloon, W187, black. Manufacturer: Spark Model. Scale 1:43.
At the first International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt in April 1951 Daimler-Benz presented the 220 and 300 passenger car models. Both featured all-new six-cylinder engines with overhead camshaft. Apart from its 2.2-litre engine with 80 hp, the 220 model was largely based on the 170 S. The suspension and bodywork were virtually identical, but the headlamps were now integrated into the specially modified front wing. In keeping with the significantly increased output, the front wheels on the 220 were fitted with duplex brakes.
