Product Description

The race car of the year 1955 successfully combined insights gained with the 1952 300 SL and technology from the Formula 1 car. Although Rudolf Uhlenhaut’s design was for a very graceful vehicle, in racing it proved as robust as a tank. Its engine was based on the M196R from the Formula 1 car, but was expanded to a capacity of 3 litres.

In this car significant races were fought and won, including the Mille Miglia, the Tourist Trophy and the Targa Florio.
