At the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 1969 Mercedes-Benz presented the C111. With its
wedge-shaped plastic body, gullwing doors and Wankel engine, this "test lab on wheels" wowed visitors. Some customers wanted to purchase the orange vehicle on the spot and blank cheques were offered. In vain – the C111 remained a purely experimental vehicle. This example is the modified version from 1970.
