Product Description

Special version of the 720 SSK race car with lighter chassis. At first the SSKL (Super-Sport-Kurz-Leicht – or super sport short lightweight) models only featured at race events but from 1931 they were approved for general sale.

As with the Benz RH, holes were drilled in the chassis to reduce the weight.

Victories such as that of Caracciola/Sebastian in the 1931 "Mille Miglia" or the series of mountain races which earned Rudolf Caracciola the title in the European Hill Climb Championship are remembered to this day.
